How did high efficiency solar panels and custom engineering overcome roof limitations at The ARC?

Synopsis

Companies are becoming more selective in the products they choose, particularly in terms of their quality. For instance, The ARC Campbelltown opted for a high-efficiency panel that met the roof loading restrictions of the Campbelltown council building. This building is expected to be in use for many years, which is why the council wanted a low-risk option that would provide a long-term return with minimal intervention over time. This explains why they chose the specified product.

At The ARC Campbelltown, the engineers had to integrate risers into the existing structure of the building, which Gant Engineering welded into place. The Schletter rails were then attached to the top of these risers, and the panels were installed on top of that. The engineering had strict weight loading tolerances, and the risers were specially engineered to merge seamlessly with the building. Behind the scenes, it took six months of engineering before the risers and racking system could be installed.

Yeah companies are specifying high-quality products, like The ARC Campbelltown specified a high-efficiency panel. Because they had limitations of the roof loading on the actual building. It's a Campbelltown council building, so it's a building that's going to be with them for many years to come. So they want a product that's going to provide a long-term return with minimal fuss, over the test of time. It's a low-risk option, which is why they have specified and chosen that option.

So yeah so at The ARC Campbelltown, we actually had to have risers engineered that actually integrated into the existing structure of the building. We had Gant Engineering weld them into place for us. It was, that what's our Schletter rails was actually attached to on top of those, and then the panels on top of that. So the engineering had quite tight tolerances to the weight loading of the building, and these rises were engineered specially to integrate into the building. At The ARC Campbelltown there was 6 months worth of engineering that went into it behind the scenes, before we could actually instal these rises and racking system.
