How is a solar power system helping to insulate a Queensland homeowner against power price rises?
Synopsis
The property in question is aiming to achieve a zero bill by exporting energy to the grid, getting paid up to 20 cents per kilowatt in Queensland. Self-consumption is being maximised with the grid acting as backup. The property is insulated against power price rises and has used high-quality products to secure their investment.
Safety and aesthetics were key in this slightly older, two-story house tile roof property. The installation was not straightforward, but the team were able to maximise the aesthetics of the panels on the roof while ensuring everything was neat and tidy. Customer satisfaction is high, with one client recently complimenting the team and installation.

The big thing for this property is we're looking to achieve a zero bill. So we will get to that. We're still going to export some energy to the grid. We're getting paid a high rate for that up here in Queensland, so we can get up to 20 cents per kilowatt for energy exported to the grid. We're maximising self-consumption, so we're not relying on the grid at this property anymore, we're using it as backup. But every bit of power in this house is being produced, stored and consumed within the boundaries of the fence. The grid is there as backup. He is insulated against power price rises, so any big change in the power network and the price of the network is not going to affect him. He's secured his investment with good quality products. So choosing the right brands for this site means longevity, means high quality, means everything will just work and continue to work.
As with any site, two-story house tile, roof, safety is always a key focus. It is a slightly older property, so hiding cables, making things look neat and tidy. No residential installation is ever straightforward. So it's always about maximising the aesthetics of the panels on the roof, and also then just getting things to look right, and get things neat and tidy. So customer satisfaction is high. The guy rang me just the other day just to compliment us on our team and our installation.
