What motivated Alastair to invest in an off-grid solar power system for his home?
Synopsis
Alastair Wood, a resident of Dereel Victoria, was faced with the prospect of having to remove a number of native eucalypts and pay a high price for running electricity off the grid. In order to live off the grid quietly, he opted for the installation of additional solar panels and lithium-ion batteries.
The installation has not only made a significant difference to Alastair's life, but it's also a win for the environment and his hip pocket. The cabling was neat, the installation was professional, and he now has access to usable power at all times.

My name is Alastair Wood. We're living in Dereel Victoria, just about 30 minutes, Southwest of Ballarat. We had a quote for running electricity off the grid, it was a very high price, because they would've had to have put in another transformer and it meant digging up a number of eucalypts. Well, first of all, it was the impact of removing a number of native eucalypts down the road. And we wanted to live off the grid as quietly as possible. The installation of the additional panels, the lithium-ion batteries has made a hell of a difference to our lives, really has. It's definitely a win for the environment. It's a win for the hip pocket. The cabling was very, very neat. The installation was very professionally done and it's made a hell of a difference. And they've provided us with quite usable power at all times.
