What was the brief for the solar power installation at KUR-Cow Farm in Queensland?
Synopsis
KUR-Cow, a conscious ecotourism-based industry, has a tourism-based theme park that showcases Outback Australia and rainforest with displays and shows featuring birds, animals, and more. However, the energy requirements are substantial, and they needed a cleaner and more stable supply to offset their load. To this end, 50 kilowatts of panels and 20 kilowatts of inverter generation with 80 kilowatt hours of battery storage were installed on top of the ATV shed and in the tack room, where air conditioning keeps the batteries and leather cool, dry, and non-humid.
<br>With 697 hectares of land, KUR-Cow needed high-quality panels and installation that would provide a more reliable energy source. The project was quite involved, with other engineers involved in the development process, but they were pleased with our solution. This installation will help KUR-Cow provide a cleaner and more reliable energy source for their theme park and trail rides, which will benefit the environment and the business in the long run.

KUR-Cow being very conscious of the ecotourism-based industry, part of the brief was regards to a tourism-based theme park, where they're bringing in Outback Australia, but with a mix of rainforest. They do displays and shows as well as birds, animals and everything else. Their energy requirements for that's quite substantial, and we're trying to provide as much as we can to offset their load and provide them a more cleaner, stable supply. Where the panel installation are installed on top of the ATV shed. Part of their tourism, they do trail rides with ATVs throughout the property. It's 697 hectares all up, so it's quite a substantial property. And the batteries and inverters are mounted with some air conditioning in the tack room. So it's dual benefits, they wanted all their leather and so forth, kept in a cool, dry, non-humid space otherwise it would go all mouldy. And that's where they keep their batteries inverter.
So the total output, 50 kilowatts of panels, or just under 48 kilowatts, with 20 kilowatts of inverter generation, with 80 kilowatt hours battery storage. They wanted high quality panels and installation, as well as being that we're locally based and they'd heard through other developers of some of the work that we'd done. Yeah, they are very happy with the result. It was quite involved with the process, with other engineers that was involved in the development to help with the brief. And they were happy with what our solution came up with.
