What were the financial and environmental reasons why Rocco invested a solar power system?

Synopsis

Rocco Musolino resides in Teringie, Adelaide, and his initial thoughts on solar energy were to reduce his electricity energy costs. As he delved further into the concept, he realized that using solar energy would also contribute to environmental factors by using clean energy instead of energy that could have adverse effects on climate control and carbon pollution.

Based on statistics provided by the installer, Rocco estimates a payback period of about four and a half years for a premium solar system. He is content with his decision to use solar energy and the services provided by his chosen installers.

My name's Rocco Musolino, and we're at an area that's called Teringie. Yeah, it's at the foothills of Adelaide. My original thoughts on solar were to explore a situation where I was able to achieve a reduction in my electricity energy costs and so forth. That was the initial look at it. And then from there, as I investigated it further, it was a situation where not only was I able to reduce my energy costs, but also play my part in environmental factors and using clean energy rather than, you know, energy that perhaps contributed to carbon pollution, or had some effects on climate control.

The figures that I've been able to put together, and they've been supported by the statistics that have been supplied also by the installer, is I think that I'll have a current payback on a premium system and it'll probably equate to around just over four years, four, four and a half years possibly. If you have a look at the payback at four and a half years and a warranty of say 25 on the panels, and after the 10 year on the inverter and so forth. So I'm exceptionally happy with that. All I've got to say is that you know, I'm happy with what I've put in, and I'm happy with the people that I've chosen because they offer a good service.
